Treatment FAQs: Your Path to Wellness

What can I expect from treatment?

  • Possibly a little sore after your first few treatments.
  • 30–50% reduction in pain after 6 visits.

Our treatment plan includes corrective spinal adjustments, targeted stretches, and strengthening exercises over the next 2–3 months of care.

After 2-3 months, your flexibility will dramatically increase, your pain levels will decrease, and your daily life and sports performance will be significantly better. After spinal correction has occurred after 2-3 months, most patients go on a spinal maintenance plan once a week or once a month. This depends on your spinal and postural health and activity levels.

Can I exercise?

Yes, if it does not cause pain while you’re exercising or the day after exercising.

What is the best type of exercise?

If you have a disc injury, perform one-legged squats or lunges; use machines. When performing upper body exercises with a dumbbell, have your legs staggered to reduce disc pressure.  Avoid axial compression or weights on your shoulders.

Additional benefits:

Spinal stress lowers the ability of the nervous system to function normally. The nervous system controls all the other systems of the body, and without normal function, dis-ease can develop.

Research shows chiropractic care can:

Improve: Energy, digestion, breathing, metabolism, sleeping, and increasing athletic performance. This is why chiropractic is such an important part of sports medicine, and all NFL and MLB teams have chiropractors on staff. Dr. Grusky and Dr. Esposito have served as the University of Miami and a minor league professional baseball team chiropractor, respectively.

Decrease: Colds, headaches, dizziness, vertigo, sinus congestion, menstrual cramps, and infantile colic and/or acid reflux. This is due to a change in the neurological function of the body, leading to restored function, better health, and vitality. Research shows that improving digestion, breathing, sleeping, and increasing athletic performance make chiropractic an important part of sports medicine.

Dangers of text neck and forward head posture:

This places incredible tension on the spinal discs and spinal cord. Placing your chin in extension while looking at a phone or computer can lessen spinal neck stress.  Try to raise your computer monitor at work or at home.
